Context

Conducted two human-factors research streams using the lab's Inno Simulation cabin simulator, driven by SCANeR Studio and instrumented with Smart Eye Pro: driver response to hazardous events and take-over response to autonomous-driving handover alerts. Captured CAN-level vehicle telemetry including steering, brake, throttle, and speed, while focusing the primary analysis on in-cabin driver behavior and Smart Eye biometric signals.

Operating SCANeR Studio-based driving simulator experiments

Operating SCANeR Studio-based driving simulator experiments

Operated the lab's Inno Simulation cabin simulator through SCANeR Studio, launching hazardous-event and autonomous-driving handover scenarios while synchronizing participant onboarding, simulator state, and Smart Eye Pro biometric capture. Logged CAN-level telemetry including steering, brake, throttle, and speed, with the primary analysis focused on driver behavioral response and biometric signals during hazard and take-over events.

In-cabin Smart Eye Pro calibration

In-cabin Smart Eye Pro biometric calibration

Calibrated Smart Eye Pro before each simulator session, including head-pose alignment, gaze-direction validation, and per-subject pupil-reference setup. Enabled extraction and time synchronization of eye tremor, blink rate, and fixation metrics with scenario-level hazard and take-over events.

Cabin chassis open for fault diagnosis

Cabin fault diagnosis — AL-35 steering-wheel failure

Diagnosed a mid-session steering-wheel failure in the cabin simulator when software-level recovery through MDAQ cluster/CFLS restart did not resolve the issue. Performed hardware-level troubleshooting of the steering/control bus and identified AL-35 through the cabin's diagnostic interface, isolating the fault beyond the software layer.

Cabin–VR seat integration troubleshooting

Cabin–VR seat integration troubleshooting

Diagnosed a mid-session integration issue between the cabin simulator and VR seat when the seat failed to respond to simulator-state changes. Verified network connectivity through ping tests, checked the seat-control daemon status, and restarted the communication process to restore synchronization between SCANeR Studio and the VR seat before resuming the next experimental block.

Live simulator demo for university presidents

Live demos for the Ajou Motor & Kookmin University Presidents

Delivered live simulator sessions to the Presidents of Ajou Motor University and Kookmin University and accompanying delegations — walked them through the scenario design, the SCANeR Studio + Smart Eye Pro instrumentation, and the human-factors implications of the driver-response data, in bilingual KR / EN Q&A.
